Having issues tuning 5th gear of my 9spd rear derailleur

Well, I *THINK* I've got the problem solved, but I was having skipping issues during my ride yesterday, so this morning I cleaned up the chain and the rear d. Then I started making adjustments to the limit adjustment screws (9spd Deore LX on an 05 Giant NRS). I got everything running smoothly right off the bat, except for stinkin' 5th gear. I spent a good 30 minutes trying to get the upper pulley in the proper alignment so that it didn't skip in 5th, or pose problems downshifting to 4th.

Arg. I think it's good now though...we'll see. I've got to get it out on the trail today to test it out, as I've got a race tommorow morning.

Anyone have any quick tips for tuning those picky middle gears?
