Vetta tsl-c hack?

I have 2 Vettas and love them. However, as many people have pointed out, while they are extremely bright and well priced they have a painfully slow flash rate that uses the "low" output level.

Can anyone think of a way to add an external flasher to speed things up? Perhaps one could just leave the light on high and use some kind of capacitor/resistor/flasher contraption between the battery pack and light? I am not electronically inclined, so some kind of off-the-shelf part that works with the 6V requirement of the light would be ideal.
