What's so awesome about the light in general, or the 5 mode light?
I have a 3 mode and have played with the 5 mode; for me there's no difference. I use High and Off, so I don't care about the other modes.
I DO kind of like the rapid flash mode - it's fast enough that it's almost constant but not quite - gets attention. The slower flash modes are like being poked in the eye, I don't like them. If both were laying on a table, I'd pick up the 5 mode one, but I wouldn't care that much.
It does have an "off" but the pilot light on the back stays lit. This draws enough current that the battery life goes down by about 6 minutes every 24 hours it's left like that. Also some people complain that it attracts thieves.
