a couple manhattan critical mass tips:
- the cops have to be able to physically grab you or box you in to give you a ticket. always keep an eye on them because they can sneak up on you.
STAY AWAY (at least 10-20 feet at all times) from the cops.
- the cops ride alongside the mass on motor scooters and typically one or two undercover cop cars (with their lights on). the scooter cops usually "escort" the ride and may be friendly - BUT DON'T GET NEAR THEM! they can flip quickly and grab you at any moment.
