I run it on my Pake with the 103mm bb and the ring on the outside. I run a Sram 9sp chain on a Dura-Ace cog. The drivetrain is not completely silent but there are no issues. I dont mind a little noise.
As for Deshi, I don't exactly know why, but in my experience, 9-speed chains just don't seem to work as well as 8-(7-6)s.
