I have used several of the Mega-Range freewheels. I think there where two versions, one that had a 24-34 jump and one that had a 26 or 27-34 jump I thought. I cold be wrong. I still have one. I also have a pretty new Nashbar-version (probably IRD I would guess) that has like 50 miles on it. I liked using the Shimano version with a 52-34 crank and rode that setup for about 3-4 years. It was great to have that "bailout" gear, but it *is* a heck of a jump.

If you want, I'll dig both of them up for you to try out - both are freewheel versions, not cassettes. (one- Shimano, one-Nashbar).
