Typical LBS bull$hit - they're trying to sell you a new bike.

Plenty of 650 stuff on eBay, and there will be until the end of time.

If your wheels are 'wobbly but strong' , are you riding at a high enough PSI? Do they maybe just need truing? Easy enough to true the MXP14 wheels using the brake blocks as a guide.

As long as the Scott fits you OK there is no reason to change it (assuming it hasn't been in a crash)
