They work with any Shimano 9-speed cassette, any 9-speed chain and any Shimano rear derailleur from 7-speed on up EXCEPT pre-9-speed Dura Ace rd's.

When Dura Ace went to 9-speed, Shimano made it compatible with all of their other groups.
