I am now retired and belong in the 60+ group and have the time to train so what bike would you recommend to ride the Mt Mitchell Challange? I figure most everyone here has heard of the ride an many may have done it. If not, it is a little over 102+ miles with 12000 ft of climbing. I'm looking for a bike to train and ride to the top. Also just so you will know, they do not allow you to ride back down
, and they do not allow you to transport your bike back down. They require you to let them transport it back to Marion and you ride a bus back to Marion.
