Tubes are $5, patching is about $0.25 per patch. I have probably saved at least $50 over the past year on patching.
As a Team Performance member I can buy tubes in lots of 10 for $19.96 when they hold their special sales so I stock up. Another reason is I don't trust patches so for my own peace of mind I just replace the tube. To each his own, I suppose.
