yes, the bb drop is how much lower the bb is than the rear dropout or wheel center, so the Fisher is indeed a higher bb than the Salsa... (not sure what I was looking at)

lower bb's seem to be the way many cross bikes are going since most courses aren't full of rocks or roots as they once were and a lower bb will give you a more stable ride... that's why road bikes will have a lower bb than any true cross bike...
