I'll echo what a2 said. Cheap isn't always complete crap. RST will get you by. Shoot, as a young rookie a long while back, I made it through an xterra with an RST fork. Towards the end it did get stuck compressed though. Well, I still had the same fun as with a 300 dollar Manitou.
Get out there and ride, enjoy it. You don't want to get discouraged because you're told you've got crap parts. Just more of the reason to put more (ab)use on them!
