Thank you for your replies.
It took some time to get to the point where I did not want to wreak similar vengeance on the fellow that hit me, but life throws you a curve ball. I am just very glad to have survived, the fact that I was hit right next to the U of A Hospital helped a lot. There were also several bystanders who helped to lift the car up while I was trapped under it, I owe these folks a big thanks.
I was wearing a Cratoni helmet when I was hit, the photo of its remains are in my profile pic. The helmet did its job but pretty much disintegrated into chunks of styrofoam. I was alot slimmer back then. I was working as a cycle messenger just before I was hit and was in a lot better physical condition.
The car was low to the ground, I was burned a lot on the exhaust pipe. The broken bones weren't so bad, but all the skin grafts to heal the burns and abrasions were not a lot of fun. It was just bad luck to be hit, Edmonton is a great place to bicycle and I feel a lot safer riding there than in other cities.
Cheers,
Chad.
