Thanks for the escort on my birthday ride BBM. Despite the elevation graph, the first descent down Soquel San Jose road and the last one down Old Santa Cruz road are worth all the uphill. The long climb is Eureka Canyon and, while filled with chewed up road and seemingly endless, only gets steep in a few places.

Plus we got to stop at Gayle's Bakery, and as BBM's pictures show - Capitola beach to view, the, ummm... scenery.
