am the wife, and I insist that our bikes be kept in the house...in the living room, to be exact.
We don't entertain or have people over, so it's not a big deal to us...plus it's just easier/quicker getting ready for a ride with the bikes in the house. Our side door is right off the living room area, and there is only one stair step down and the bikes are outside in the driveway.
