Certainly a beauty! The Mid-stays, are they straight tubing in the forward section. Seems to be what you said, but shadows, or something, are making it hard for me to tell.
The midstays forward of the seattube are 1/2" x .035 4130. Behind the seattube I used a set of single taper seatstays. The 1/2" tube just fit into the 14mm OD end of the stays making a nice fit.
That provides a nice taper back to the dropouts.
