Probabaly true, but both of my bikes are pretty pristine and I ride them all the damn time. Most likely because I can count the times I've had to lock one of them up outside on one hand and it's only been for a few minutes at a time while I run into a store or whatever. Luckily, the wife and I have the luxury of keeping our bikes in a spare room in our house and I bring my bike inside where I work. It also doesn't hurt that one of my jobs is at a bike shop.
I keep my cars and house clean too. I guess that's just me. As you can tell by your sig, I'm somewhat of a diva.
