What are you talking about, I use EB pedals Exclusively and have for years. I ride very agressively on and off raod and I weight 230lbs. Never snapped any spindles, or even bent any, no rust at all on even my oldest most worn set, and the springs are as snappy as they were after they first broke in. There is nothing wrong with EB for freewheel riding.
