When I rode my bike to school back in the 70s, you could always tell who rode their bike by their Levis. Ours were always patched on the inside thigh and the sit-bones. It was a badge of honor--especially if you'd managed to keep them out of the chain all that time.
Forty years have made no difference in Levis, bicycle saddles or human anatomy. Cycling still wears out Levis. Only now, you throw away jeans with holes instead of patching them.
Oh, and I wear lycra now.
