I use KMC chains and love them! Although my rides are generally 25 miles, I carry the CT-5 tool (for my own use & for other chain-disabled cyclists) and KMC missing link connectors. In 37 years of riding, I've only broken one chain on a ride (on a Tandem around 1980). It was not as I recall, a name brand chain.

Note that you will need to exert a fair amount of effort to remove the pin with a CT-5 on a 10 speed KMC chain. After I did this for the first time to size a new KMC chain, I wondered how in the world this chain could ever break!
