We (wife and I on the tandem) did the Delta Century on Sunday. Figuring the Delta century would be flat we rode Empire grade and Swanton loop on Staurday (55miles 4200 feet). To say we were totaly flogged by the end of Sunday is not doing the misery justice winds howled all day. Unless the wind was coming from directly behind the effort to keep the bike upright seemd to negate the benefit of any tail wind. How windy was it............I started to talk to another rider after getting the post ride meal which included a salad, while I was talking to him the salad blew off my plate, had to hold onto water bottles while eating so that would not blow away. Had to be the worst winds I have ever ridden in. I would recomend this ride to anyone, support is great, traffic is minimal and it was the wind that made Eddy the monster he was
