Kinda like drop position on a roadie bar. (elbow 90 deg, with hump upper back) ... Lance's setup was kinda low too. I guess I really need to try one. (if I can find one)

P.S. I haven't confirmed. ... Is that picture computer generated? Looks plenty old picture to me, but with all that paintshops I can't be sure.
Looks like the '93 Bridgestone catalogue shot for the XO-1. Trust Grant Peterson shot an actual photo, but if you send him an email at Rivendell, I'm sure he will tell you. FYI, there's an NOS (sort-of) XO-1 on Ebay right now with those bars and that frame on full display.
