The local bike co-op gives bikes to indigents in exchange for help around the shop. Some of the bikes can be quite nice.
There is a man on the board of directors of the co-op that happens to be homeless. He rides a nice mountain bike and I pity the punk that tries to take it away from him.
I ride a CF monocoque trek while wearing a dirty shirt, torn jeans and $5 tennis shoes.
While I don't hang out at donut shops I do meet friends downtown for coffee.
I'd love to see someone come up to us and accuse us of stealing our bikes.
