What is wrong with your front shifting at the moment? Maybe a little adjustment to the derailleur or the cable will improve things and mean that you don't need new chainrings. If you do decide to go for new rings, there is probably no need to change the inner ring because that is pretty simplistic and doesn't do much work to help shifting, the big ring is the important one.
