Here's a tidbit. I was taught while driving that if there is only enough room for one vehicle to go through an area on a hill the person coming down hill should yield the right of way to the person coming up hill. Reason being is it is safer for the person going down hill to back up hill than it is for the person going up hill to back down hill. Same rule of thumb should apply in this situation just in case. I wouldn't want to be on my bike and have to attempt to back down the hill a bit to assure safety. Harder to control the bike.
