Or, if you're in a big metropolitan area, you may be eligible for a guaranteed ride home program as a bike commuter.
Here in the DC area, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Commuter Connections service has such a program. It extends to cover cycle commuters - not just transit users or ride sharers, etc. I have signed up for it just in case, but have never needed to use it. (Knock on wood.)
