I practice the "Mark Twain" diet: eat whatever you want, and let the food fight it out on the inside.

I like pizza, Subway, cheeseburgers, various preparations of potatoes, and, yes, vegetables. I need foods that 'stick to the ribs', which is my main problem with things like grilled chicken, baked fish, etc. I like that stuff, too, just prefer not to have the belly growling again 90 minutes later.

Lose weight? When the weather cooperates with me getting my miles in (I ride MTB everywhere, frequently -- before this spring -- "milking" my commutes for more miles), then my portions reduce pretty much automatically.
