I'd say that, given the same tire specs and saddle, they'll be the same.
If you want a smooth ride, a few tricks.
• use wide and lower PSI slicks
• try Fizik bar-gels under the tape (or an equivalent product)
• if you really wanna go nuts, look into a Thudbuster
