Cadel Evans: what a human moment. in this age of the egomaniacally selfish look at me cyborg athlete, I found his efforts and display of emotions moving. I would never compare the podunk amateur racing i've done/do with the level that these guys compete, but I've been in situations where I've exhausted myself physically and emotionally only to fall short and realize that I'm simply not good enough. It's a very humbling realization. I think in a way Cadel Evans had that on a level that is at the top of the sport of bicycle racing yesterday. Add to it that he communicated that (paraphrasing) he believed he let down his team and those who believed in him. From a very high, high on Sunday to a very low, low on Tuesday.

Cadel Evans is true World Champion. I'm a fan.
