I had a buyer contact me in the same way...really liked the bike I was selling, but lived in California...we made an arrangement where he paid me for the bike via PayPal first...once that was completed, I gave him the name of a reputable LBS for bike packing...at that point, all I needed to do was drop the bike at the bike shop...he took care of the rest with them, paid for the packing with them via credit card, they then took it to a shipper down the street for him and he paid for that as well via CC. I was pretty much out of the transaction when I dropped the bike at the LBS.
