The swisstop yellow pads stop "OK" on aluminum rims. I run them regularly on my TT bike and don't bother to swap when I use the aluminum brake track wheels on it. They're probably not as good as a regular pad designed for aluminum rims, such as the koolstops, though. They're softer and will wear faster, also. I'd pick the orange compound koolstops for most situations on aluminum rims.

I was looking at the GHP2 version of swissstops. I'm guessing they both work about as well as you need brakes to on <1" wide tires.
