I am a 6’ 5” 53 year old that occasionally rides a 63cm Felt F80. I am planning to buy a second bike that can be used for more casual outings. Riding more often would also help me lose those last 20 lbs.

While surfing the internet, I came across the Bike Forums web site. Since I am fairly active on photography forums (my other hobby) I thought it would be good to gain some collective wisdom, so I joined the bike forum community.

I looked at a couple hybrids this weekend and would like a large steel frame bike with disc brakes, internal gear hub, and Big Apple 28" X 2.3" tires. I would like to purchase a hybrid bike before the end of the year. That will give me time to sell unused items on craigslist, etc. to help fund the purchase. I spent $800 on the F80 back in 2004 and already know the components for the hybrid are adding up higher than that amount.
