Welcome! I had a Trek 720 (old hybrid, predecessor of 7200) and liked it a lot. It was of a similar quality but lacked suspension. It was very comfortable and sturdy, but I eventually grew tired of the upright position for commuting and switched to a road bike. In any case, I think it sounds like a good fit for your needs.
