I had a flat about two miles from home. It was early morning and still dark. My choice was to wait for it to get light enough to see what I was doing, and then fix the flat. I think I can do everything in the dark or low light. My concern was that I would not find the tiny thorn in the tire. My other choice was to walk home. Given the distance, I know it will take less time to walk home.
I really hated walking home and being passed by all the runners.
I'm glad I waited to fix it at home. I could see that there were several bald spots in the tire. I probably save myself from another flat in the near future.
