Rubber block pedals?

Ok, my Sprite came with wide non-rebuildable block pedals. Loved them, except one was loose, and the other gritty--and they wore off like a mm or 2 of rubber in less than 200 miles. I put on some late model platforms, which grip my sneakers ok, but are not comfortable on longer rides. Are there more modern block pedals? I've got a couple sets of rebuildable pedals but I haven't gone looking for blocks, plus they are not as wide nor long as these oval ones.
