It was a weekend with beautifull yet not too hot weather here and probably the last one of the year, so I decided to give my bike a nice ending-of-the-summer ride.
I wanted to conquer as many steep hills as possible, so I started off at my house and rode to Sint-Goriks-Oudenhove ... then I rode up "de beerendries" and back down the other side towards Brakel ... then I rode to Geraardsbergen and rode up "de kapelmuur" ... then I rode back down the other side towards Atembeke and rode up "de bosberg" for the first time.
At the top, my wife and baby were waiting for me and we went for a walk in the woods, followed by a drink in the pub on top of the hill.

The top of "de bosberg":

A nice special triple-style beer called "boerinneken" afterwards:

The course, which was a bit more than 30 kilometers:

I averaged 28km/h and I was happy enough with that ... it was supposed to be a nice day out, not a body-wrecking massacre
