Sheet material might be a bit too light if loosely woven. I always opt for a more firmer weave for my bags. The chosen fabric will still be light enough to "mold" to the bike, yet strong enough to withstand repeated scratching, stuffing and bumping that it is sure to receive. Think more on the lines of a light pants weight.
