Thanks, guys. I'm pretty sure it is stripped. No clue how that happened though.
I grabbed one from my LBS about 15 minutes ago and am happily rolling again. I googled some 26.8 posts, and seatposts are very low on my list of things to upgrade and spend money on, so I grabbed a parts bin one.
