Tucked into my socks. If I'm not wearing socks, I'm wearing shorts anyway.
I figure that it's okay if dirt gets onto my socks, and they're long enough to account for the chainring. Velcro straps and other devices that hold the pant legs snug don't offer protection like that. So, I've got a bunch of straps sitting around waiting for me to get rid of them.
