So I went to the local surplus store, had a terrible ride through traffic hour with no shoulder clearance for me. So I was forced to ride on the sidewalk most of the way, which was a narrow obstacle course in itself! BUT it was worth it after finding a few good buys at the surplus store.
1. pair of wool socks. 50% wool, 20% nylon, and 30% cotton. $3 hopefully these socks will be better at preventing foot odor than my current sweat-wicking Wal-mart buy's. I'll be getting more of these if I like them.
2. pair of wool gloves 70% wool, 30% nylon. $4 I can wear these on especially cold mornings and nights instead of my warm weather bike gloves with the fingers cut off.
3. wool jeep cap 100% wool, $8 (looks like

The wool might not be fine merino wool, it may itch a little but I still think it's a hell of a bargain at $15 for all three.
