Use Competitive Cyclist's fit calculator and to help you get a better idea of what frame dimensions you need, it will also give you a sense of what stem length to run. Keep in mind these are base figures to work from but it's better than the gap between the top tube and your crotch which with compact geometry is worthless. Bike fit is something you want to get as right as possible because getting a bike which is uncomfortable is an exercise in frustration.
