Yeah, as FBinNY mentioned early Campy friction dt levers were notorious for spontaneous loosening. I had a set on an older Bridgestone (so I could claim "Campy equipped" ) and after the third or fourth experience with "ghost shifting" when they came loose, I changed them for a set of Sun Tour Power Ratchet shifters and the problem disappeared for good.
