Point taken. I would still try to fasten the brake with perhaps a nut and run a longer bolt outside then. Or just sandwich the stay between two washers? I do motorcycle mechanic..ing... and it just doesn't seem right to put long fulcrum on a washer.
I'll look at my bike- tomorrow. I need some sleep now.
