The summer of 2010 I embarked on a journey across the great continent of europe. Starting in Amsterdam I started my trek across 7 countries (Holland, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland, France and Spain in order) to Barcelona. It took me and 9 friends (we are all 16 years old) 22 days, averaging 95 miles a day with a rest/exploration day every 5 days. Wake up time: 4:30 am to avoid the heat. Total mileage: 1550 miles. Our goal was to see the real small time europe and avoid tourist places. We slept under the stars and brought tents, sleeping bags, all of our clothes and food in our panniers and racks. We climbed Col de madone, Tourmalet, and endless mountains in the Swiss alps and Pyrenees. All on our rugged 45+ pound touring bikes. This journey opened all of our eyes and will never be forgotten. Our friendships were sealed forever. Just wanted to share
