Why would you want to cut out rice and pasta? Both are excellent sources of carbos if you find and eat the right ones.
Look for brown rice, not white. Wheat and spinach pasta is also good for you.
Drugs are stupid, and have no true long term value when it comes to weight loss.
Think of it like this. If a pill helps you lose weight now, how many pills will you have to continue to take to keep the weight off later, in say a year, 3 years, 10 years?
Think long term.
Eat better, and less, but more often.
Exercise.
Rest.
