That sucks. She has my prayers for a quick and complete recovery. I would definitely lawyer up since bikes can legally be on the road. I would think it would be the same as if the driver rear-ended another car.
Riding Lakeline scares me to death, I go out of my way to avoid it (have ridden on the sidewalk several times just because I don't feel safe on the road).
