Questions: Crankbrothers Eggbeater pedals

Im going to be purchasing new pedals for my bike, I've used Shimano spd's and they are fine for what commuting,

Im getting crankbrother eggbeaters "1"

Anyone have any toughts on these pedals? Also, Are they hard to skid on? Because on the SPD, I had to keep my foot parrelle to the ground, Took maybe 2-3 minutes of skidding to get used too, But it was a problem for the first couple of miles.

Thanks in advance

Oh yeah, Are the cleats for the eggbeaters the same bolt pattern as SPD?

Nvm that question found out.
