While chainwear can cause vibration, it wouldn't have a sudden onset. Look for something broken or moved, either a broken spoke, or possibly a broken rear axle that allows the rear wheel to move slightly and rub under high chain tension.
You might check the axle.wheel movement theory by standing on a pedal with the front brake locked and watching for deflections in the wheel.
