As for the ride, I'll be sticking to the trails for the most part. My friend that I work with has a nice loop around the city he likes to ride. Also, after 9 pm that city turns into a ghost town and is perfect for riding. I think it is safer than the suburbs where everyone speeds and does not pay attention.
I hear what you're saying about empty streets. I love riding around, and through our city on any given Sunday. Hardly a vehicle or person in sight, and lots of flashing traffic signals to keep you rolling. Have a great time out there this weekend. The weather's going to be pretty decent for sure.
