Actually I got it second hand and it was a pretty good deal. I can't do the conversion myself, so I'm loathed to pay £300 for the upgrade, especially when my LBSs are unenthusiastic about doing it, and warn about it possibly not going together properly.
The Brompton wouldn't necessarily be my choice, but it rides better than I thought. I just can't face the hassle of crowded trains, as anyone who watched Dispatches on Channel 4 last night will understand. Not that I'm a regular commuter, but there's no point in having a folder if it won't fit.
It's a shame that there isn't a big choice of 16"s.
